COVID-19 update: Message to members  - 1st June, 2020

The Victorian State Government has provided information about the easing of restrictions for sport and exercise from 1st June 2020.

  • Up to 20 people can participate in outdoor group sport and exercise activities, provided you can keep your distance (at least 1.5 metres apart) and they are not competitive.
  •   Indoor sports centers remain closed until 22nd June

The Committee has reviewed the return to tennis guidelines and has outlined the following to ensure that we get our Members back to playing tennis as safely as possible if you choose to.

Club reopening guidelines as of 1st June, 2020

  • Social tennis to recommence only for members adhering to the maximum of 20 people participating at any one time during the daylight hours of 8am – 5pm
  • Night tennis is limited and can only be arranged via the Committee in advance due to no coin box operation
  • For the purpose of contact tracing, each participant must record their contact details in the book provided at the clubhouse entrance  (picture)
  • Coaching numbers per court & hour of the day outlined at club house entrance to provide members with available slots for social tennis
  • During peak periods such as weekends, the guideline is to play for one hour to allow more members to play
  • Clubhouse remains closed. Only exception is to use the toilet. Clubhouse must be locked after use
  •  No spectators in club surrounds
  • Hand sanitiser is provided but we encourage you to bring your own
  • Bring filled water bottles prior to arriving
  • Once you have finished playing, leave the club surrounds to enable other people to play

We again thank you for your patience & understanding during these unprecedented times which resulted in our club having to align with Tennis Victoria, State Government & Bayside City Council COVID-19 guidelines.
